- Haight Guitars…I recently met Sharon and Norman Haight at the Newport Guitar Festival in Miami Beach. They are wonderful people who have honed their skills in creating some of the finest hand made instruments on the market. Offering Steel string, classical, mandolins and acoustic bass. They had the vision to open a brick and mortar store to not only display their wonderful crafted instruments but also, offering custom instruments from other well know builders.
- Haight guitars is also offering a new CD that brings together 17 recording artists (and 10 professionals) with styles varying from Jazz to Raggae on a single unbelievably diverse and fantastic CD. They are graciously donating $1 from each CD sold to support our project. We greatly appreciate thier support and encourage you to visit their website.
- Newport Guitar Festival…I have to say, Henry Lowenstein is definitely a person to be recognized. As the new owner of the Newport Guitar Festival, now held in Miami, his first showing has established him as a force to be reckoned with. In my opinion the first show at the Miami Beach Convention center was a huge success. Showing this groups skills in organization and style that will only improve in the years to come. Anyone who didn’t attend this years event should definitely consider participating in next years schedule. On a personal note…I found Henry to be one of the most non pretentious people I’ve ever met. Just a great down to earth person who divides his personal time, skills and knowledge with everyone. He not only has a vast knowledge of the history of the guitar industry but, is in himself a wonderful asset to the furtherment of the craft. I’d also like to publicly thank him for his contributions to our reforestation efforts. Thanks a million Henry. The show opened avenues for our project I feel will be very beneficial to our success.

- Sharp Guitars…I had the pleasure of meeting Don Sharp and his family at the recent Newport Guitar Show. I must say the four guitars I saw displayed at his booth were nothing less than spectacular. Don and his family are very kind and honest people. Don is building his reputation as one of the finest (semi) newcomers in the business. However, his guitars show the crafstmanship and quality of a seasoned builder with decades of experience. I’ve read and heard nothing but positive response from his growing list of satisfied customers. His guitars are definitely worth pursuing if you’re in the market for a custom made instrument.
